Niagara-based alternative alternatives, Pindles, jammed a couple new tunes for us!

Tragedy Ann is a new folk/blues mash up consisting of Braden Phelan and Elivia Cazzola! Sit back and enjoy three tunes from the stellar duo, we sure did!

Descending on the couch this week was Matt Sajn. He played us two of his special brand of folk songs, one about staying awake on the long drive back from Tilsonburg, and one about the Welland Canal!

The finest folks you ever did know, Berger, Blake, and Goold were on the couch for the release of their live album, the Albert St Sessions! Here are four songs from that night, recorded with a live studio audience...

Hamilton's finest 3 piece rock group, the Zilis, dropped by in their tour van with one set of bongos, two guitars, and two songs off their first album, Sketches. 

The very awesome and handsome band, Stereo Sunrise, was in the house and on the couch for this week's session. Hailing from all around the Niagara region, these guys create solid rock and roll.

Well, y'all are in for a treat this week! These two gentlemen flew in on the Sunday morning, sleepy eyed but ready to rock. After force feeding them coffee and a few high fives they wowed us all with their talents...

Robyn and Dave stopped by a few weeks ago to tell us stories about their kids and play us a couple songs...

Avenue Inn stopped by to jam a few tunes on our well worn orange couch. We really enjoy what these guys are doing!

Mackenzie McRuer stopped by for this weeks session. With a voice much older than him and a solid understanding of how to write songs that hit home, we were to say the least; mesmerized.

Singer/songwriter and Niagara music scene veteran, Rafik Guirguis, dropped in a few Sundays ago to play us a couple of his new tunes!

Road Waves stopped by to Psych us up on this Psunday morning. These dudes can write a wicked tune and sound great playing them. Sure they may only be 19 years old but these guys have been around since the 60's for sure. Perhaps they are interdimensional travelers stopping off to jam some tunes. 

The inaugural sessions of Band on a Couch feature a 3 piece instrumental post folk bluegrass jazz jam band from the future...

Heavy Hearts was in the same day as Kaptur thanks to Indoor Shoes. With fantastic musical compositions and just all around great people, this was another Sunday for the record books. 

Toronto's finest Folk 'n' Rollers, Sun K, were in town to play a show and squeezed in a quick session after soundcheck!

Finally, it's the long-awaited return of Hamilton's awesomest ragtime troupe, The Vaudevillian! Now performing as a 3-piece, get ready to tap, slap, sing, and carzoobamaphone along to their undeniably catchy music...

Introducing the man who needs no introduction, it must be Edwin Conroy Jr! The actor/sing/songwriter/cool guy shares three songs about eating ribs, living out of bags, and so much more!

What is a Century Thief?  Some say it's indie folk, some say it's thoughtful acoustic rock, and still others say just get out and see them - and we are sure glad we did!

Sweden sure does sound nice!  Toronto's favourite folk inspired indie pop group, Midnight Vesta, dropped their hit single "Sweden" along with a new tune "Old Boy" on our slightly comfortable couch!

A true Canadian legend, Jamie Snider, stopped in last Sunday to play a couple tunes and then he pulled out the fiddle and wowed us again... good thing we kept the cameras rolling, rolling, rolling!

These Toronto-based indie rockers were in town for a few shows and we were lucky enough to get a special performance from the Niagara expats, Barbarosa!

The Super Group Eli and the Straw Man came by for a sit down on the couch. Luckily they brought all of their instruments and we asked them to play us some tunes. Holding the record for butts on couch, this was a downright jolly good time. If you haven't heard these songs yet, prepare to have them in your head for weeks to come. 

A while back, Marshall and several friends stopped by the Motel and Marshall decided to play us a couple songs...

Bedroom electro-disco-wave artist, AA Wallace, dropped by to chat about old video games and then wowed us with a one-man show like nothing we've seen before on the bright orange couch!

Welcome to Grunge Country!  The PJB Trio crashed the motel to drop an older favourite and two new tracks off their upcoming album "Big Rumours in a Small Town"...

The always amazing and constantly charming Mandevilles stopped by the Albert Street Motel and sat on our couch! We decided, since they were sitting there they should play some tunes. And play they did...

Whitney, Laurel, and Frank joined us for coffee, coffee, coffee this weeks episode. Everyone behind the cameras were jittery but luckily we have editing tools. We were all wowed by their performance. We bet you will be too!

Kaptur dropped by to drop some bass on the couch. This session was quite an experience and a hell of a lot of fun. Thanks to Timur from Indoor Shoes for setting this up! 

A Book for Wanderers stopped by with a few familiars faces and played us some tunes...

This week, Windfall Found dragged an organ into the living room and rocked the room. Enjoy it!

Oscar stopped by for this weeks episode and amazed us all with his great tunes. We had an absolute blast and a great jam session after the cameras died, you should have been there...

Barrie-based "rock 'n strollers", Stonetrotter, were in town in May to play at the In the Soil Arts Festival and impressed us with their effortless blend of cool country and simmering soul...

Common Deer were on their way to the Animal Noises Music Festival in Niagara Falls when they decided to stop in at the Albert Street Motel to shower our ears with two awesome tunes!

The Wilderness of Manitoba came by for a quick session before headlining the In the Soil Arts Festival in St. Catharines.  We were not only impressed by their musical talents, but also by their ability to entertain Henry, Cody's two-year-old son!  Here are two amazing songs, one off their latest album and one unreleased song. The Hallers hail from Toronto forming a killer combination of Jazz, Indie and Rock and Roll. We here at the couch are really digging this musical stew!

Steve Lane and the Autocrats are on the couch this week! Flying all the way across the world from Australia just to hang out with us...and to play Canadian Music Week.

Majora stopped by the Albert Street Motel for this episode of BOAC. If you've never heard them before you are in for a treat. And if you have heard them before the same goes to you. So have 7-8 casual beers and enjoy!

Super group, Aaron Berger and the Blue Stars stopped by for a session on the couch. It just so happens to be three people from Eli and the Straw Man, and that's awesome. So many laughs were had on this chilly Sunday morning. 

Hauntingly sweet, Creature Speak were in the house to tell ghost stories and share some songs off their debut album, Shadow Songs!

Joel may feel like he lost a friend but he definitely made a friend with us here at the Albert St. Motel! And we really love the music being made by this band! Hope you do too!

Straight out of Welland, we welcomed Pete Tremblay and the Boozy Truth to the couch a little while back, and they played us some crazy fuckin' songs!

Thunder Bay's best and brightest (and most truthful?) indie rockers, the Honest Heart Collective came by to shine up our couch with some classic sass and the raw power of their well-crafted tunes!

Eric Conlon and his wicked band are kickin' up a country storm and the dust has yet to settle. Here are a couple tracks from his debut solo album, 'Hope'.

Mason Vail, Niagara's resident balladeer, was on the couch to share an older tune (Drunken Literature) and a brand new composition  (Lucidity) - check it! 

Have we got a treat for you today! The Sweet Experience snuggled up on the couch and played a few beautiful tunes...

Self-described as "nothing like Led Zeppelin", the 7-piece version of Hungry Lake stopped by to drop some fuzzy wuzzy indie rock on our couch! 

Trevor James and the Perfect Gentlemen stopped by to use adult language, tell us stories, make us laugh and play beautiful songs. This session was such a great time and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Beth Moore joined us for a lovely Sunday jam on the Couch. Many tunes were played and they were all fantastic! She denied our coffee offerings but was wittier than all of us...

We had a packed house on a cold Sunday for this great performance by Rod Standish and his roving troubadours* of awesome talent. Enjoy!

Mel Monaco stopped by for this weeks episode. With Dan Box on guitar this duo blew us away! Fantastic song writing and a purely unique voice. And Mel brought her very awesome mother along!

Known as the poor man's Blues Brothers, we welcomed Frankie and Jimmy to the last Band on a Couch filmed at the Albert Street Motel (ie the Season 1 finale), and it was a riot!

Meet Ben Andress of The Smile Case as he rocks out a couple tunes on the couch!

Chantal Barrette joins us on the couch this week to play some beautiful tunes accompanied by Jim Slominski on bass. With a truly unique voice and songs varying from a spooky apocalyptic tune to summer chill jams, this is a session you don't want to miss.

Dead Grass joins us for a rockin session on the couch. With a lot of different musical genres for inspiration, these guys write some great rock and roll. Enjoy!
